Öğe Analysis of Elastic Lateral Torsional Buckling of Cantilever I Sections by The Complementary Functions Method(Konya Teknik Üniversitesi, Mühendislik ve Doğa Bilimleri Fakültesi, 2023) Sivri, Burkay; Noori, Ahmad Reshad; Temel, BeytullahIn this study, an important stability problem, in the design of cantilever I-beams under lateral torsional buckling behavior is theoretically investigated. The elastic lateral torsional buckling behavior of cantilever I beam loaded from shear centers is examined for four different loading types. The governing differential equation is transformed into a set of first-order ordinary differential equations. The Complementary Functions Method (CFM), which is an effective method in solving the first-order differential equation set, is used. Fifth Order Runge-Kutta (RK5) algorithm is used for numerical integrations in CFM, which can transform the boundary value problem into an initial value problem. The obtained results were compared with the existing results in the literature. It has been shown that CFM can be used effectively in the analysis of elastic lateral torsional buckling behavior of I beams.Öğe Birinci Mertebe Kayma Deformasyon Teorisine Dayalı FD Düz Eksenli Kirişlerin Serbest Titreşim Analizi(Çukurova Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi, 2019) Aslan, Timuçin Alp; Noori, Ahmad Reshad; Temel, BeytullahBu çalışmada, birinci mertebe kayma deformasyon teorisine dayalı doğru eksenli fonksiyonel derecelenmiş (FD) malzemeli kirişlerin serbest titreşim özellikleri incelenmiştir. The elastic modulus and mass density of the porous materials are considered to have non?uniform distributions along the thickness direction. The typical open?cell metal foam is assumed to govern the material constitutive law. Within the framework of the first?order shear deformation theory (FSDT) the influence of shear strain is included in the formulations. The impact of damping is also considered. By using the canonically conjugate momentums and their derivatives, the governing canonical equations of motion of FGP beams are derived for the first time. These equations are then transformed into the Laplace space and solved numerically with the aid of the Complementary Functions Method (CFM). Obtained results are retransformed to the time domain by using an efficient inverse transform method. The dynamic response of FGP beams is studied for several boundary and loading conditions. The suggested procedure is verified with the available published literature and the finite element method. Detailed parametric studies are conducted to show the influence of porosity constants, symmetric and asymmetric porosity distributions and damping ratios on the dynamic response of FG porous beams.Öğe An efficient approach for free vibration analysis of functionally graded sandwich beams of variable cross-section(Elsevier Science Inc, 2023) Aslan, Timucin Alp; Noori, Ahmad Reshad; Temel, BeytullahIn this research paper, a powerful numerical method is implemented to examine the free vibration analysis of functionally graded (FG) sandwich beams of variable cross-section. The core of the beam is considered to be made from homogenous isotropic material and the faces of the sandwich beam are considered to be made of FG materials. The effect of the shear strain is considered in the formulations based on the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT). The governing canonical equations for the dynamic response of FG sandwich beams are derived with the aid of the canonically conjugate momentums for the first time. To solve these equations numerically the Complementary Functions Method (CFM) is implemented. The free vibration behavior of the symmetric and asymmetric FG sandwich beams is investigated for different boundary conditions. The presented efficient numerical method is validated with the available literature. Moreover, detailed parametric studies are conducted to demonstrate the influence of layers, geometric constants, material volume fraction indexes, and beam slenderness on the natural frequencies of FG sandwich beams.Öğe Fonksiyonel Derecelenmiş Malzemeli Kirişlerin Sönümlü ve Sönümsüz Zorlanmış Titreşim Analizi(Çukurova Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi, 2020) Aslan, Timuçin Alp; Noori, Ahmad Reshad; Temel, BeytullahBu çalışmada, kesit yüksekliği boyunca fonksiyonel olarak derecelendirilmiş (FD) malzemeli kirişlerin çeşitli dinamik yükler altında zorlanmış titreşim davranışı üzerine bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Firstly, considering the effects of shear deformation and damping, time-dependent motion equations of in-plane loaded parabolic arches are obtained. Subsequently, the Laplace transform is applied to the obtained equations and solved by a powerful numerical method. Furthermore, the Kelvin viscose model is used to describe the viscoelastic material. Using an effective and suitable inverse numerical Laplace transform method, the results were transferred back to time space. The verification of the presented method is performed by comparing its results with the results of ANSYS. It has been shown in several examples that the proposed method is highly accurate and efficient compared to step-by-step time integration methods.Öğe On the static analysis of laminated composite frames having variable cross section(SPRINGER HEIDELBERG, TIERGARTENSTRASSE 17, D-69121 HEIDELBERG, GERMANY, 2021) Rasooli, Hasibullah; Noori, Ahmad Reshad; Temel, BeytullahThe complementary functions method (CFM) is used to investigate the static behavior of laminated composite frames consisting of straight and/or curved members of variable cross section. The Timoshenko beam theory (TBT) is used to obtain the set of the governing equations. The ffth-order Runge–Kutta (RK5) algorithm is employed in the solution process of initial value problems via the CFM. A computer program is substantially coded in Fortran on rigidity matrix based on the CFM to acquire the rigidity matrices and load vectors of these structural elements. With the help of the suggested method, the infuences of the symmetric layer stacking sequence, the ratio of E1/E2, and various boundary conditions on the nodal displacements and element end forces of the considered frames are investigated. Carrying out the static behavior of laminated composite frame systems which contain straight and circular axis elements for the frst time by using the CFM is the novelty of this study. The mechanical properties of the material, Young’s modulus, of the straight beams are considered to be graded only in the thickness direction. Poisson’s ratio is supposed to be constant. Governing equations of the considered problem are obtained with the aid of minimum total potential energy principle based on Timoshenko’s beam theory (FSDT). The main purpose of this paper is the infusion of the CFM to the bending analysis of FG straight beams. The effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed scheme are confirmed by comparing its numerical results with those of the available literature. The application of this efficient method provides accurate results of static response for FGM beams with different variations of material properties.Öğe Static analysis of functionally graded porous beam-column frames by the complementary functions method(Elsevier Science Inc, 2024) Rasooli, Hasibullah; Noori, Ahmad Reshad; Temel, BeytullahIn this paper, an efficient and accurate numerical approach is implemented to examine the static behavior of Functionally Graded Porous (FGP) planar frames for the first time. The symmetric material constitutive relationship (SMCR), monotonic material constitutive relationships (MMCR), and uniform material constitutive relationship (UMCR) models are used to define the gradation of porosity along the thickness direction. The effects of porosity coefficient and material porosity distribution type on the static behavior of the FGP frames are investigated in detail. A direct relation between porosity coefficient and nodal deformations is observed. The effect of shear deformation is considered in the governing equations based on the Timoshenko Beam Theory (TBT). Within the scope of the presented procedure, fifth-order Runge-Kutta (RK5) algorithm is applied in the solution of the initial value problems. Imposing the rigidity matrix-based Complementary Functions Method (CFM) on the static analysis of the FGP planar frames is the novelty of this research. The results of the suggested approach are verified with the those of the finite element method (FEM), and those of the available literature. It has been carried out that type of the porosity distribution and porosity gradient index have an important impact on the response of FGP planar frames. By increasing the porosity coefficient, the displacement values of the frames made of UMCR and MMCR porosity distribution are affected more than those of the UMCR distributions. It can be noted that the SMCR can be preferred for designing the FGP beam-column structure as the minimum deformation values are obtained.Öğe Winkler Tipi Elastik Zemine Oturan Fonksiyonel Derecelenmiş Malzemeli Kirişlerin Statik Analizi(Çukurova Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi, 2023) Aslan, Timuçin Alp; Noori, Ahmad Reshad; Sivri, Burkay; Temel, BeytullahBu çalışmada, Winkler tipi elastik zemine oturan ve kalınlık boyunca fonksiyonel derecelenmiş (FD) malzemeli kirişlerin eğilme davranışı üzerine bir inceleme yapılmıştır.
