Kitap, halkın anlayacağı şekilde dili sade ve içeriği de basit hazırlanmıştır. Ahmet İhsan’ın kitabı yayımlamadaki amacı halka liberal iktisat düşüncesinin temel ilkelerini öğretmektir. Ahmet İhsan, kitabını liberalizm doğrultusunda yazmış ve kitabı yazmadaki amacı liberalizmin sadece okuma yazma bilen bir kitleye ulaştırmak olmuştur. Bu çalışmanın kapsamı 19. yüzyılın ikinci döneminde yaygın bir şekilde benimsenen liberal iktisadın İlm-i Servet kitabı ışığında incelemektir. Çalışmanın amacı dönemin ikinci yarısında basında çok fazla dile getirilen ve kitap tefrikaların çıktığı liberal iktisadın, İlm-i Servet adlı kitabın içeriğini vererek halka öğretilen iktisadi düşünceyi tespit etmektir. Çalışmada görüldüğü gibi Ahmet İhsan, okurlara liberalizm ilkelerini öğretmeyi amaçlamıştır. Çalışmada önce Ahmet İhsan’ın hayatı hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve basında tefrika edilen iktisat kitapların kronolojisi aktarılmış, sonra ise İlm-i Servet adlı kitabının içeriği incelenmiştir.In the 1870s, many economics books were serialized in the press, and one of the serialized economics books is Ahmet İhsan's İlm-i Servet, which was first published in the columns of Servet-i Fünun in 1891 and later published as a book. The language of the book is simple and the content is simple in a way that the public can understand. Ahmet İhsan's aim in publishing the book is to teach the basic principles of liberal economic thought to the public. Ahmet İhsan wrote his book in line with liberalism and his aim in writing the book was to convey liberalism to a literate audience. The scope of this study is to examine in the light of the book İlm-i Servet of liberal economics, which was widely adopted in the second period of the 19th century. The aim of the study is to determine the economic thought that was taught to the public by giving the content of the book titled İlm-i Servet of liberal economics, which was mentioned a lot in the press in the second half of the period and the book serials were published. As seen in the study, Ahmet İhsan aimed to teach the principles of liberalism to the readers.
